Facilities include block fabrication and assembly on ships. The steel shop is equipped with bending machines, shearing machines, rolling machines and a comprehensive range of welding machines. Facilities are also available to carry out post-weld heat treatment for higher thickness steel. We have ASNT Level II qualified inspectors for a complete range of non-destructive testing such as the Magnetic Particle Test, Liquid Penetrant Test and Ultrasonic Test. Our team of highly qualified welders and fabricators provide all types of steel and welding works including SMAW, TIG, MIG and SAW.

Helifusion and spiral welding is a process used for the reconditioning of worn out cylindrical components and weld overlay. This provides a cost-effective and faster solution compared with replacement.

BASREC has a well-equipped pipe shop with qualified welders for all kinds of carbon steel, stainless steel and alloy steel. In addition, we have qualified welders for the non-ferrous materials. We undertake all kinds of marine piping jobs such as sea water piping, fire lines, bilge line, CHT piping, fresh water lines, cooling lines, high temperature engine exhaust line with special steel and propeller repair jobs.
We also have well-equipped facilities for pickling and passivation jobs for stainless steel piping. Our specialties include:
- Pipe-work of all sizes in copper, galvanized and black steel

METALOCK COLD STITCHING SERVICES
Since 1977, BASREC is an accredited member of the Metalock International Association Limited and as such holds the exclusive rights in Bahrain and Qatar to operate the Metalock process for the cold repair of metal castings. Metal stitching is a permanent repairing process for cracked, broken and fractured casting body which can’t be welded and BASREC has over the years become an acknowledged leader in this process.
